excess workload in 1997 caused Paul to experience Chronic
Fatigue Syndrome, and he was advised by doctors to rest. However
within 3 months of his official 2 years rest period he was
running a
youth crime prevention project on a voluntary basis. This project
earned him two certificates of achievement, and a project commendation
from the Chief Constable of Cardiff.
From 1999 - 2000 Paul Worked for Cardiff Social Services, Llamau Housing & studied towards the DipSW & MSc Social Work at Swansea University. Unfortunately due to the illness of his ex-wife & son, the course was never completed since Paul left to care for them. From 2001 to 2002 Paul worked as an Intensive Support Worker in Mental Health and Learning Disabilities. This included training and actual work in the fields of Autism, Epilepsy, Mental Health, Medication, Manual Handling, ISS, Aids/HIV and related fields.
